Serial No. 1795. These carbines were manufactured from 1868 to 1898 in .44 rimfire. This carbine has been re-chambered to .44 WCF (re-bored or replaced with model 1873 barrel) and is stamped at breach. The lower tang has been repaired to the original frame and renumbered 1795. Features standard 20" barrel, a full magazine, brass rifle butt, missing trap door. The rear barrel band screw is broken. Fore end wood is cracked. Engraving is of the period and of known Winchester style. Not marked inside. Fine looking 66 carbine that can actually be shot with the new chambering as opposed to the .44 rimfire. Blue metal surfaces are smooth patina. Bore shows some strong rifling with some blemishes. Fully operational.
