Serial No.1524. Manufactured from 1857 to 1861. This is a five shot, .36 caliber percussion, double action revolver with 6" octagon barrel. These are often referred to as the Navy model. Approximately 1,000 were manufactured with 600 of those purchased by the U.S. government. This is one of the civilian models. All the metal surfaces are grey gun metal soft patina. Grips are fine. Double action works perfectly. Cylinder is numbered 771, loading lever is 1524. Fine action. Strong rifling but lines of corrosion. These revolvers saw lots of use during the Civil War.
