Serial No. 6677. Often referred to as the Pocket Army, this is a third model closed top with a 3-1/4" barrel, double action with the skull crusher grip frame. The frame is stamped "Merwin & Hulbert Pocket Army" on right side. It is chambered for the Winchester caliber .44-40. Gun retains at least 95% original factory nickel finish with some light freckling on barrel and cylinder and minor high edge wear. End of the cylinder shows very little use. Locks up tight as new both double and single action. Traces of case colors on hammer and trigger guard. Left grip is from a Colt, and right grip is cracked (this gun would benefit greatly from a set of replacement grips, which would make this desirable Merwin a collector quality gun). Strong clean bore. Really fine third model manufactured in the 1880s.
MERWIN & HULBERT .44 REVOLVER.
