Serial No. 96101. This revolver began life as a standard Civil War model 1858 Remington model percussion revolver that was martially marked, cartouched on left grip, blued finish, 8" octagon barrel that was subsequently converted in the 1870s to fire self contained .44 cartridge. The gun retains approximately 85% of the reapplied blue finish albeit there is some evidence of pitting under the current blue finish. Brass trigger guard is unpolished, walnut stocks are excellent with an added coat of varnish. Indexes perfectly. Fine clean bore.
