NSN. Manufactured 1861 to 1862. This rare .44 caliber six shot center hammer army revolver features a 7-1/2" part round barrel, walnut grips, blued finish, with case hardened hammer and trigger guard. All the metal surfaces are a brown-grey patina with scattered light freckling throughout. Excellent original grips albeit left panel is a little shy and loose. Cylinder indexes properly. Strong bore with some minor roughness. Left side of barrel is stamped "CSA" which appears to have been on there for a while, but we have no way to confirm any Confederate usage. Very rare large frame Civil War revolver.
