Serial No. 1436. This scarce rifle features a 25-1/2" round barrel, full magazine, and is chambered in the .44 Winchester caliber. The rear sight slot has a filler. The fore end has been replaced. The rear stock has a three inch crack at comb, and the wrist has been repaired with two screws on the left side of wrist. Has a lollipop rear tang sight. The barrel, magazine, and receiver are all a pleasing smooth blue-brown patina. The bore has strong rifling with some frosting. Rifle is fully operational. Manufactured between 1883-1885, only 3,810 were ever made. Would be a good candidate for restoration.
