Serial No. 283343B. Factory records indicate that this special order rife manufactured in 1888 and shipped on May 3 1889 as standard rifle, .32 caliber, octagon barrel, plain trigger, and nickel trimmings. It is a special order half plated finish standard rifle, with 24" octagon blue barrel, full magazine, rifle butt plate, and .32-20 caliber. Half plate refers to the nickel finish applied to the receiver, dust cover, butt plate, nose cap, and magazine tube. Approximately 30-40% is present on the receiver, traces on butt plate, majority of the nickel remains to tube and nose cap. Barrel finish is fading to gun metal grey with small amounts of blue mixed in. Wood is deluxe varnish finish in excellent condition and is still proud to metal. Bore has strong rifling. Fully operational. Very rare, factory documented, special order rifle.
