According to the factory, this gun left as a blued and case colored 5 ½” 38 WCF(current configuration) with hard rubber grips having been shipped to Simmons Hardware in St. Louis on November 7, 1898. It is one of the earlier smokeless frames. Subsequently, it was beautifully engraved in Helfricht style, fully nickel plated and fitted with real ivory grips. The quality of the work is top notch and the gun is in superb condition with all the nickel finish, perfect factory stamps, all four Colt clicks and locks up like a new gun. Grips have some nice golden age to them as well. Bore is mint. All matching numbers. Never over polished with sharp as new edges and no dishing. Really sharp antique revolver.
COLT 1ST GENERATION ENGRAVED COLT S.A.A.
