Serial No. 19565. Manufactured in 1875. This is an early black powder frame gun. It has been completely custom engraved and nickeled. The only serial number now visible is on the frame and the Colt side frame stamps have been engraved over. The top barrel markings are still present. It sports a 5 ½” barrel and is in the .45 Colt caliber. It currently has a pair of two piece carved Ivory grips with the Eagle and shield carving albeit they do not fit the frame particularly well but are very handsome. The barrel stamp does not have the early type cursive stamp and the hammer is not of the 1875 era so gun was probably re-barreled and rebuilt at time of custom work. Still, a handsome highly ornate Antique Colt Army with a perfect bore , four full Colt clicks and perfect timing.
