Serial No. 140. Early pre Winchester Volcanic 8” Navy pistol, one of about 1500 manufactured in 1856 - 1857. This pistol remains in wonderful condition albeit the barrel has been expertly restored but never over buffed and all the factory stamps are sharp and crisp. The brass retains a lovely dull appearance, the grips are near mint and most of the original factory fire blue remains on the screws. At first inspection, this gun appears to be in almost new condition. The hammer and lever have most of the softening case colors. The bore is in near mint condition with no pitting and strong as new rifling. The gun operates as it did when new and is as tight as a drum. Chambered in standard 41 caliber. A simply marvelous early pistol that would be a crown jewel in any collection.
