The Winchester Low Wall action was the basis for this custom single shot target rifle. It is fitted with a 29 ½” heavy round barrel and is chambered in .22 long rifle rimfire. Barrel is stamped by maker, C.C. Johnson. Bore and action are mint and both barrel and frame retain virtually all of their blue finish. Lever is standard S lever and nickel plated. Has really odd custom made rear tang aperture sight. Nickel plated Swiss butt plate. Stock is maple with inlays and cheek piece for right handed shooter. Nose cap is also nickel plated. Serial number on Low Wall frame is 74313. Front sight is large globe. C. C. Johnson; a famous gunsmith of the 1940s & 50s. C. C. Johnson had an outstanding reputation as a gunsmith holding very close tolerances in all of his work. Many records were broken at Camp Perry using his firearms.
