Another incredibly rare revolving rifle with production of less than 100 guns made in Conway, Massachusetts during the 1830’s. The case colored frame and cylinder are a smooth gun metal patina. The 24 ½” barrel is part round and in 45 caliber percussion and basically same patina and is missing the front sight blade. The Kentucky style stock is decorated with numerous inlays on left side and patch box on right (missing door). Stock is birds eye maple and has a few expertly repaired cracks at the wrist. Strong rifling and could use good cleaning. 6-shot cylinder. Appears to be missing outside ratchet and there is a modern replaced screw on bottom of frame. A good custom gunsmith could put this rifle back in proper order with little effort and it would then be a cornerstone in any early revolving rifle collection.
