Serial No. 120897. Manufactured in 1874. Offered is a nice model 1866 third model rifle that remains in wonderful condition. It is standard in all respects with a 24" full octagon barrel, full magazine, rifle butt, and Winchester swivels. Brass is lovely unclean patina. Traces of case colors on hammer, lever is brown patina, and barrel and tube are a clean blue-brown patina. Fine markings. 1866 flip up rear sight. Wood looks to have its original finish, is proud to metal, and has a hairline 3" crack on toe of stock. Barrel has the "King's Improvement New Haven" stamp. Perfect operation. Strong bore with some very minor roughness. Well above average condition for this very desirable rifle.
