Serial No. 33218. Offered is a fine and extremely rare long barrel (7-1/2") Smith & Wesson New Model No. 3 single action target revolver in 44 Russian caliber. This fine revolver retains approximately 80% or better of the fine factory oroginal high polish blue finish on the barrel and frame. The cylinder is basically patina with some fine blue in the cylinder flutes. The front grip strap retains most of the original blue while the rear has patina as well. The wide target hammer as well as the trigger guard retain generous amounts of colored case hardening. The guns sports target front and rear sights. Its grips are original to gun and in near mint condition. The cylinder indexes and locks up as new. Bore is in excellent condition. This rare gun is accompanied with a factory research letter by Roy Jinks. Another rare features of this gun is that there are no patent dates on the barrel, which is an extremely rare occurance. A beautiful, never seen, early Western target revolver, never seen in today's market.
