This is one of the finer examples of a standard size pepperbox that we have offered. It is a six shot 32 caliber, sporting 3" barrels. It has the 1837 patent date. This is a standard Worcester style handle with rounded frame; wide, flat barrel ribs; and engraved nipple shield. The condition is amazing in that the frame and shield retain over 50% of the original fire blue finish, beautiful case colors on hammer, and smooth blue-brown barrel finish, and fine engraving. Mint varnished stocks. In working order. Perfect. Number stamped on butt "JD14732". Made from 1847 - 1865.
