Serial No. 7666. These popular little deringers were manufactured from 1866 to 1873 by the Brown Mfg. Co. and Merrimack Arms Co. of Newburyport, Massachusetts. Standard features include a 2-1/2" octagon barrel, spur trigger, sideways pivoting barrel in .41 rimfire caliber. The top of the barrel is stamped "Southerner" and manufacturer is stamped on left side of barrel. The brass frame is a deep dark untouched patina. The barrel is a smooth grey-brown patina. Original grips are fine with some minor chips. Fully operational. Very good bore but could use a good cleaning.
