Beautiful cased set of matching smoothbore dueling pistols manufactured mid-19th century. Percussion ignition. .54 caliber. 7” full octagon browned barrels. Platinum inset at breech. Top of barrels stamped Harvey & Son 68 South Street Exeter (England) Ebony rods. Brass tipped. Brass inset front sight. Platinum clean out plug. Case colored lock maker stamped and engraved. High polished and engraved trigger guard. Single trigger. Engraved tang and brass owner plaque not signed. Polished brass nose cap. Engraved dolphin nose hammer. Silver thimbles. Smooth clean bores. Perfect actions. High gloss finish checkered stocks. Browned striped finish barrels retain all the pattern. Both guns come cased in an original vintage wooden case with a Dixon flask, mold stamped 30, cap tin, Ebony starting rod. Wood handle nipple wrench, some old balls, original key, a jag and two extra screws. Some of the case partitions are broken or loose. Beautiful matched set of English duelers. The Harvey pistols were made circa 1843/1850. We believe they were gun makers/smiths, not retailers, as the son has two revolver patents 1853/1854.
