Serial No. 10238. This rifle was manufactured ion 1897. It is a standard sporting rifle. Features a 26" full octagon barrel, full magazine, rifle buttplate, chambered for the popular .38-55 cartridge. Barrel and tube are a pleasing smooth blue-brown patina with some scattered light peppering and freckling. the receiver retains flashes of brilliant blue but has basically turned. Original varnished walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal, small sliver at wrist. Case colors on lever have darkened. Action is perfect. Bore has some good rifling with some light pitting.
