Serial No. 138959. Manufactured 1896. Offered is a standard marling 1893 sporting rifle. Features include 26" full octagon barrel, full magazine, rifle buttplate, chambered in the popular .38-55 cartridge. This rifle is in beautiful little used condition. The barrel and tube retain approximately 95% original factory blue, just starting to thin a bit on tube. The nose cap retains virtually all of the brilliant blue. The receiver retains approximately 60% case colors, some bright. Traces of color on both lever and buttplate. the front sight is a flip up globe with tang rear. Rear sight blank is filled. Action is perfect. Has a beautiful strong bore. Lovely early Marlin in a popular caliber.
