Caliber .30-40 U.S. One of the many 1898 rifles altered to carbine configuration and sold as surplus after the turn of the century. Features a 23" round barrel. Stock cut and refinished. Cartouche no longer visible. Metal is a smooth blue-silver patina. Bright blue on barrel band. 2" crack on left side of stock. Strong rifled bore. Perfect action.
