Serial No. 2424162. This is an original, World War II US Army contract Model 1911A1 "Service Model" Ace slide chambered in 22LR. This model used the new "Floating Chamber". It has the two line Colt address and patent dates on the left side of the slide with the Rampant Colt logo at the end of the markings, with the right side marked, "Colt Service Model Ace .22 LR". The frame is from a 1918 World war I era Colt the has the correct pre-war checkered slide stop and safety. The hammer is the short wide spur, has a war era checkered mainspring housing, checkered stamped trigger, and Keye's brown plastic grips. Magazine is a Colt .22. Basically this is a stock refurbished World War I frame that has had the service model ace upper added. Gun retains 95% of the original war-time era parkerized finish. Excellent bore and action.
