Attributed to Buffalo Bill. Leather jacket in deep rust brown with black velvet trim around edges, cuffs, shoulders, and collar facings. Light leather cut-outs appliqued to face and cuff area done in ivy-leaf design. Fringe over shoulders and large Indian head with headdress design on the back (done by wood burning type process, colored, now dim from wear). Anyone familiar with Cody’s Wild West Show is aware that in later years with popularity waning in the U.S. , he spent increasing amounts of time in Europe and England. This jacket was worn during his visit to Cornwall, England. Cased in an inlayed case.
