Serial No. 324286. This pistol started life in 1918 as a standard U.S. military .45 semi-automatic military government model pistol. Embellishments include full coverage custom engraving, overlayed silver bear on left side, completely re-blued with dou-toned blue finish, custom wood grips. The gun retains all of the original 1911 circa 1918 parts. The slide is an earlier slide with the rampant colt on the center of left side. A custom grip safety has been added (manufactured by Caraville Arms circa 1971 with paperwork). Mint bore. Perfect action. While the custom grip safety is quite comfortable and interesting, the looks of this custom .45 could be greatly improved with the addition of a standard blued grip safety and mainspring housing, as well as a pair of ivory or ivory type grips.
