Serial No. 443652 was manufactured in 1918 as a standard US issue .45 Black Army. Like many guns that existed at the onset of the Second World War, this gun was tested and reconditioned by the Augusta Arsenal as evidenced by the current parkerized finish and the AA stamps found on the Left side of the frame. Other standard WW11 features include the Keyes brown plastic grips. The exposed area of the barrel is stamped 45 Auto 7791193. All the other features as found on a 1918 gun are present with milled checkered small parts, type 1 wide spur hammer, long smooth trigger and smooth straight main spring housing. I would rate this gun as a 90% finish as over hauled with some high edge wear but still very clean and an important war era gun in that it was called into service for at least two World Wars and who knows what action it saw from 1918 to 1941. Fine bore and action. Mint grips.
