Serial No. 252502. Frame dates to 1918, the same year that Savage was awarded a contract to produce slides. According to Joe Poyer, when these replacement slides were fitted, they were refinished and parkerized with the rest of the gun. This gun retains all WW1 circa 1918 parts but gun was parkerized and grips were replaced with a pair of original Keyes plastic grips. Slide has the Savage stamp on left side (Savage is not mentioned but this is their stamp), United states property is stamped on left side of frame. JMG circle inspector stamp on left side of frame. Gun looks to have been cleaned of any finish and is basically gun metal dark gray. WW11 magazine. Fine grips, bore and action.
