Beautiful cased set. The revolver, mfg. by the Deane Harding Co. of London, features a 6" octagon barrel, double action .46 cal six-shot percussion. Serial No. 5390 (matching). Finely engraved. Smooth blue plum patina. Working order, but cylinder is a little loose. Trigger returns spring is sticky. Fine checkered walnut grips. The original case includes an original fluted flask, two wood-handle turn screws, a brass bullet mold, a brass capper, an ely cap tin, and a wooden oil bottle. The wooden case has William Richardson 1859" carved into the lid. According to research, Richardson fought for the confederacy during the Civil War, served Alabama in the House of Representatives, and was an Alabama judge. Wonderful early English revolver, that may have seen service with Richardson in the Civil War.
