Fairly typical Colt Model 1849 with 4” octagon barrel, five shot .31 caliber percussion single action revolver. Serial number 69230 which is all matching including the wedge. Gun was mfg. in 1853. Revolver is in excellent all original condition with fine high polish blue finish on barrel starting to plum but still brilliant in areas. Frame colors have silvered out. Varnished walnut grips are excellent. The cylinder scene is perfect and still retains most of the original blue finish. Strong bore. Needs a little tweaking as cylinder does not advance. Older wood case with lining missing from inside lid. Accouterments include a small non Colt flask, a Colt bullet mold, Colts cap tin and box key.
