Also known as the Mississippi rifle made at Harpers Fairy 1846-1855. It is a .54 cal single shot percussion, feat. 33" barrel with two bands. Lock plate is marked "US" and is dated 1850. Barrel is brown patina with some heavy rust pitting near nipple. Lock plate is also patina. Wood has numerous dents, with proper brass. Includes original ram rod. Fine working order. Also includes original bayonet mfg. by Horstmann & Sons, and sheath. Very good bore.
