Presentation sword manufacture by C. Roby & Co. Mass. Features a US themed etched blade, wire shark skin wrapped handle, brass hilt, plain brass appointed metal scabbard. Engraved “Presented to Capt. S.D. Shipley February 20th 1862, by the men of Co. C.” Excellent condition. Shipley was captain of company c 30th regiment Massachusetts volunteers infantry. Fought in battles from 1862 through 1864. Cox’s plantation, LA, Winchester VA, Cedar Creek, VA, and others.
