Both swords include original metal sheaths. Rusty and patina. Both have the d-style brass hand guards. One sword has no maker marks, the other has a rusty blade which is marked Horstmann's Phila. The outer leather wrap of the Horstmann sword is missing, while the other has deteriorated leather.
