Serial No. 1107. This is a never seen, first year production (1850) first model square-back in the under 1250 serial number range. It is a standard first model with a 7-1/2" octagon barrel, .36 caliber, six shot, and one piece varnished walnut grips. Condition of the metal is basically brown patina with some scattered fine pitting. Screwheads are true with the exception of the wedge screw. All matching numbers except wedge is not numbered. No visible cylinder scene except serial number. Indexes perfectly. Rifling strong but frosted. Small rear sight added to barrel, contemporary to gun. Gun appears to have had some added finish a long time ago as it has now turned to brown. Very good markings.
1ST MODEL COLT 1851 NAVY PERCUSSION REVOLVER.
