Caliber .30-40 U.S. Typical 98 rifle altered to carbine configuration with 22" barrel. Perfect action. Excellent bore. Very good wood with no cartouche visible. Metal is basically gun metal grey. Comes with an original two frog sling. Fairly typical in that many 1898 rifles were altered to carbines and sold on the surplus marked after the Spanish-American War.
