5,095 of these carbines manufactured for the Navy in 1868 and 1869. Chambered for the .50-45 centerfire cartridge. Single shot rolling block action with a 23-1/4" barrel. Has the short single leaf rear sight, walnut stocks, and sling swivels. Last patent date is April 17th 1866. Right side of frame is stamped "P/FCW (Anchor)" and top of the barrel is stamped with an anchor. Strong bore with some minor abrasions. Perfect working action. All metal surfaces are a smooth gun metal grey patina. Rear barrel band has a "U" stamped on it. Wood is rough with some repaired cracks. Refinished and re-varnished. Very scarce U.S. Navy carbine seldom seen in any condition.
