Serial No. 523859. Standard model 1884 Springfield rifle, caliber .45-70 govt. 32-5/8" barrel, blued finish, case hardened, breech block. Left side of stock has got the Samuel Porter 1891 cartouche. Built in ramrod bayonet. All metal is a smooth blue-brown patina with traces of color on block. Excellent action. Strong clean bore.
