Attributed to John Rogers (1829-1904). This classic American sculptor is known for his plaster images of early American life, as well as the 80 casting of the American Civil War. He did only three bronze casting is his lifetime, which include Pickett's Charge, One More Shot, and this bust of Abraham Lincoln. Its gilded bronze patina show the 16th president with a remorseful and worried look. President Lincoln was faced with many challenges of the Civil War, among other domestic and international challenges. The bronze is signed on the back "John Rogers New York" and weighs about 12 pounds. It rests on a square black marble plinth and is still in very good condition.
