This rifle is a standard pre-war military issue Model 1903 Springfield bolt action rifle. Barrel is dated 5-24 with the "S.A." and ordinance bomb. Wood has no visible cartouche. Has all correct milled parts. Stock is very good with usual dings. Metal retains approximately 75% of the military finish. The receiver on this rifle dates to a 1928 manufacture, so it was either re-barreled, or an old barrel was pulled from inventory. The swept bolt is etched 6066. Action is fine. ME reading is 1. Excellent example of a between the wars Springfield. Comes with a reproduction sling.
