This incredible rifle was manufactured in 1892, is chambered for the .44-40 Winchester cartridge, and has survived in near mint all original untouched condition. The barrel, tube, nose cap, and frame retain 90% or more of the original lustrous high polish factory blue finish. The hammer and lever still retain most of the original brilliant case colors. The original stocks are near mint, all original, with no cracks or chips. Even the buttplate retains approximately 50% of the original blue finish. Bore is mint, as is the action. This is just an incredible high condition example that is about as nice as any collector could hope to find. Gorgeous. With factory letter. Includes standard US issues bayonet for the Krag .30-40 caliber military rifle or carbine, dated 1899, it is in very good condition. The blade has been sharpened but there are some nicks. The handle is excellent and comes in the original metal sheath and holder. Bayonet is erroneous and does not go with this gun rather it is for Craig Krag Rifle in another lot.
