Beautiful sword features a curved 30 blade that has the fire blued finish with Patriotic gold etchings. Leather handle with original wire wrap. Silver plated brass handguard. Maker stamped. Has original leather scabbard with belt and hanger. Blade is not sharpened , just some minor rust freckling that should clean to near mint. This came from the original owners family and includes an 1842 document presented to David Porter, promoted to First Lieutenant of the Fifth Company of the Sixty Third of the Commonwealth of Pa. Interesting sword and document to a PA militiaman.
