The association between Stevens, Pope, and Winchester is well documented. Offered is a beautiful Model 1885 Winchester Hi-wall single shot rifle. It has a Stevens Chickapee Falls 28" part octagon barrel and is chambered for the .32 Ideal cartridge. It has plain sporting front and rear sights. Stocks are all original, proud to metal, with all the original varnish, and no cracks or chips. The frame retains approximately 60% original case colors, some bright, there are even traces of colors on the buttplate. Action is perfect. Strong bore. A lovely high condition Stevens Winchester Hi-wall. Factory letter states that this rifle was shipped from the warehouse on June 12, 1891 as a .32 WCF, half octagon 28" No. 1 barrel (no mention of Stevens which is typical of Stevens barreled rifles).
