This is standard military rifle chambered for the .30-40 U.S. Krag cartridge. Standard features include a 30" barrel, full stock, blued finish. This rifle remains in excellent all original condition. The barrel retains 95% of the lovely smooth blue patina finish. Frame is in like condition. Extractor still has some brilliant fire blue. Case colors present on magazine. Stock is near mint with no cracks or chips and a perfect JSA 1897 cartouche on left wrist. Strong bore. ME is 1. Beautiful rifle that dates to the Spanish-American War. Factory letter. Springfield Research did not return up any further information.
