This massive knife is 16 1/2" long with a 10" long blade. The blade is 1 3/4" wide and a full 1/4" thick. The blade is marked "EDMUNDO WHITEY CA/ VALPARAISO". The german silver horsehead pommel is beautiful with no flaws. The stag grip has a small age crack but does not detract. Complete with a very nice all original sheath. This is a Clip point bowie knife marked “Edmundo Whitey”, “CA”, , German silver mounts. Probably Sheffield made in Joseph Rodgers style. These massive circa 1850-60’s Bowie knives with the silver Horse Head Pommels are among the most sought after of the big Bowies from the pre-Civil War era and this is a classic knife in the classic style.
