This revolver looks like a standard 1851 Navy with a 7-1/2" octagon barrel, six-shot non-fluted .36 caliber percussion cylinder, case colored frame, brass trigger guard and backstrap, and varnished walnut grips. All matching numbers, except wedge not numbered. Barrel has the Colt New York City address and retains approximately 60% high polish factory blue, balance patina. Cylinder is patina with some fine pitting and no scene. No case colors on frame. No Colt patent stamp. Near mint original varnished walnut grips. Serial number stamps are unusual and not Colt. Action perfect. Strong clean bore. Close examination of this revolver leads us to believe that the barrel is in original Colt barrel. It was then put together during the era. This gun is not a modern copy and definitely dates from the mid-19th century.
