Offered is a lovely near mint pre-war Savage Model 1899 lever action rifle. Features include a 22" full round barrel, walnut stocks, and serrated steel shotgun buttplate. This early short rifle remains in phenomenal original factory condition. The barrel retains virtually all of the original factory blue finish. Receiver retains 75-80% of the original high polish factory blue. Lever still has 60% of the brilliant case colors. Has brass cartridge counter on the left side. Wood is excellent with a couple of usual storage dings. Mint bore and action. This short rifle is chambered for the classic .303 Savage cartridge.
