Lovely English proofed Tranter big bore (.44 caliber) double action percussion revolver circa 1850s. Features include 6" octagon barrel, five shot, .44 caliber, double action, smooth cylinder, double trigger, and spurless hammer. The barrel and frame retain approximately 50% of their high polish factory blue finish. The cylinder is basically a smooth clean gun metal grey patina, as is the attached loading lever. The checkered walnut grips are near mint. This wonderful gun exhibits lovely period factory engraving on the frame, barrel, loading lever, backstrap, and metal butt. Action works perfectly and locks up tight. Strong bore with some minor corrosion in the grooves. Revolver comes in its original English walnut case with a small copper bag flask, an ebony handled nipple wrench, a Tranter's patent bullet mold, original cleaning rod (cracked), and Ely cap tin, handful of projectiles, and one extra nipple.
