This standard takedown rifle is chambered for the .25-20 Winchester centerfire cartridge. It was manufactured in 1917. Standard features include 24" full octagon barrel, full magazine, takedown action, rifle butt, walnut stock, and blued finish. This rifle remains in incredible near new condition. The barrel, tube, fore end cap, and takedown frame retains virtually of the original factory blue finish. Frame retains approximately 85-90% of the original blue with some minor flaking which blends to brown and is common on all rifles of this era. Walnut stocks are near mint, proud to metal, never refinished, with virtually all of the original varnish, nary a bump or scrape. The lever and buttplate retain a majority of their original blue finish as well. Excellent bore. Perfect action. Beautiful little takedown rifle manufactured the year the United States went to war.
