Manufactured in 1861. All matching numbers including wedge. Standard features include 4-1/2" barrel, five-shot fluted .36 caliber percussion cylinder, single action, brass frame, and walnut grips. All metal surfaces are a clean, smooth, grey patina with perfect factory stamps. Locks up like new. Strong clean bore. Excellent grips. The butt of this gun bears the period inscription "D.M. Wheeler Auburn, New York". This was obviously given as a gift to a soldier going off to war in early 1861.
