One of the most desirable rifles in the entire 1895 line is this takedown Winchester in the .405 caliber. Made famous by Teddy Roosevelt, these rifles were nicknamed "Big Medicine", and this is a fine example. Standard features include 24" heavy round barrel, sporting sights, rifle butt, walnut stock, blued finish, with the ebony inset on fore end. This rifle is in excellent all original condition, never touched. The barrel retains virtually all of the original factory blue finish. Frame and magazine retain 90% original high polish factory blue with just high edge wear. The take down ring is faded to gun metal grey. Walnut stocks are near mint, proud to metal, no cracks or chips, and with all the original finish, Screws are perfect and retain a majority of the original fire blue. Even the buttplate retains 30% of the original blue. Action is like new. Mint bore. This is a beautiful .405 caliber takedown rifle.
