This is an exceptional example of a antique (1897) Colt Single Action Army revolver. Chambered for the .44-40 cartridge. The left side of the barrel is roll stamped "Colt Frontier Six-Shooter". Standard features include a 7-1/2" barrel, blued finish, case colored hammer and frame, fire blue screws, Colt hard rubber grips, single action, and six-shot. The barrel retains approximately 10% of the original high polish blue finish, with the balance simply flaked to a smooth patina. The ejector housing retains 85% of the original factory high polish blue, as do grips straps and trigger guard. The cylinder retains approximately 70% of the original factory high polish blue with high edge wear only. The frame retains approximately 75% of the original case colors, most brilliant. Hammer retains virtually all of the original case colors. Grips are near mint, are original not, fit perfectly, and are not numbered inside. Most of the original screws retains virtually all of the fire blue finish. All screwheads are perfect, having never been touched or taken apart. Action is perfect with all four definitive clicks. Bore is mint. Rarely do you get a chance to find an original antique serial range Colt Frontier Six-Shooter in absolutely 100% original untouched condition with such a fine amount of original finish. Gun has seen very little use. Most of the wear is simply natural aging. With factory letter.
