This is a standard Colt Lightning double action revolver manufactured in 1893. Sports a 3-1/2" barrel with no ejector rod, i.e. Sheriff's model. It is chambered for the .38 long Colt black powder cartridge. Retains 75-80% of the original factory nickel finish. Strong stamps. Colt hard rubber grips are original to gun, complete, but have faded to brown and show heavy wear. Strong clean bore. Works in both single and double action. But rebound spring is sticky, and trigger must be pushed forward to be fully operational. This was a must-have back-up revolver in the West and a favorite of Billy the Kid.
