Standard U.S. issue rifle with a 30" barrel chambered for the .30-40 U.S. Krag cartridge. The barrel finish is a pleasing mix of blue and brown with some freckling. Frame is gun metal grey with freckling. Original stock is excellent with no cracks or chips and a perfect JSA 1902 cartouche on left wrist, and circle P underneath. ME reading - 2. Strong rifling. With Springfield Research letter. Springfield research did not turn up any further information.
